If you have registered or logged-in, but are asked to login again immediately afterward, then our browser is probably rejecting cookies. Netscape Navigator 3.0, Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0, and later versions allow users to reject cookies on a case-by-case basis, or always. But to use the IT Resource Center, your browser must accept cookies, at least temporarily. Here is how to set this option:
- When you connect to the IT Resource Center, does your browser ask you whether you want to accept a cookie?
-
- If so, at least respond Yes. You may also want to reconfigure your browser to accept all cookies (see below), but that is optional.
-
- If not, reconfigure your browser to accept all cookies (or at least show an alert).
-
- Procedures for configuring your browser to accept cookies vary from one browser and version to another. In general:
- If you are using Netscape Navigator 4.0 or later, look under the Advanced tab of the Preferences, available from the Edit menu.
- If you are using MSIE 3.0 or later, look under the Advanced tab of the Internet Options, available from the View menu.
In either case, choose from the available options to either accept all cookies, or accept with a warning. Then Reload the current IT Resource Center page (and if you chose to to be warned, respond Yesto each cookie). When you are done with the IT Resource Center, you may switch back to your original configuration if you wish.
For your information, more about cookies and the IT Resource Center is available.
